Track and Feild Districts 2012

Esther ran the mile, 100 meter hurdles, 4 by 100 relay, and the long jump. For the record her time for the mile was 6:13, the hurdles 17.53, and 13' 8" in the long jump.  It was a perfect day for districts. Sunny and in the low 70's. Grandpa Barry, Grandma Connie, Jeremy, Jennifer with Sawyer and Colston, and Zach came to cheer her on. Esther's only complaint was about shinsplints. I hope to help her stretch before and after she runs this summer to see if that will help. She is a great runner and fun to watch.

Esther is third from the left.

Colston would cover his ears when the gun went off to start the races. He also wanted to play in the sand soo bad.

This was her last meet in Castle Rock. I tried to get a picture of her jumping the hurdle, but only got one right before and right after. Lame.

I was ever so happy that it was sunny for Mathews districts in Kalama. They have a nice stadium and field. Mathew did well this year in the high jump. His PR (personal record) was 5'11". He did great during practice, but got nervous at the meets, and only jumped  5'10". He would have had to jump at least 6' to qualify for state. He was pretty upset, but Mr. Holms said he did well for a freshman, as the ones he was competing against were juniors and seniors.

Checking out the competition.

Warm ups

We sat on a blanket by the high jump where we were able to have a better view, and be in the sun. Not to mention it was more comfortable, and Colston wasn't confined to the bleachers.

Colston was in heaven with all the rocks and sticks to play with!

Sawyer was just her sweet self.
In all it was a good season and they both did well.
