Weeks/weekend catch up.

The ladies have been growing like crazy! We have had a lot of fun watching them change and show their individual personality's. Stuarts will be the biggest as she is a full size hen (Rhode Island Red), the rest are the bantam hens. So far they are named Red (Stuarts), Grey (Mathews because she is grey), Blackie (Esthers because she is black or we just call her Esthers), and the last two are the sisters (mine) because they are the same kind, brown and small. One is big sister and the other little sister because of their sizes. So far Big sister and Red are the sweetest, and the ones that come to your hand or arm first to cuddle up and go to sleep. - Heidi has been very good and only seems to show an interest in the hens when we are playing with them. She want to be right there in between whoever has them.

Red on Stuarts arm and Little Sister.
(And yes, that's chicken poop)

Stuart and Mathew started building the coop last weekend. Stuart took things he liked from all the coops we have been looking at over the last few months and is building his own design. I am staying out of it as it is clearly a father son thing. I think Esther is more excited about it though.

This back part is where their nesting boxes are. The whole lid lifts up for easy cleaning.

We had some snow this month with warmer sunny days in between. There was even a snow day. Colston and Sawyer were here so Mathew played out side with Colston...

...and Esther and I stayed inside with Sawyer.

I dont know how this one got sideways.

Mathews first track meet this year. He placed first in the high jump, putting him on Varsity as a freshman.

He was happy considering it was under 40 degrees and raining!
